For instance you are using you CFL 20W for 4 Hrs per day for a period of year and the electrical unit rate is 8 per unit then (20x4*365*8)/1000 =  233.6. Rs 233.6 will be your annual electricity bill for 1 CFL of 20 W. Now if you have replaced it with 12W LED bulb your savings will be (12x4x365x8)/1000 = 140. Rs 140 will be your annual electricity bill for 12W LED bulb. So your annual savings will be 233.6 – 140 = Rs 93 yearly for replacement of CFL to LED.

Savings in terms may look small for the single LED replacement, but the LED lamp life is 3 to 8 times more than CFL bulbs. Ultimately it is also saving your buying’s of at least 1 CFL per year.
